What do I Need?
Radio communications has changed so much these days that it makes it a hard choice for people to decide which system best suits them. We have tried to give a good cross view of most of the systems available, with the exception of GSM mobile phones which are already well dealt with by many major suppliers. We have included as this is a business communications system, and will be the way forward for radio communications. The deregulated PMR 446 will be useful for many people that just want to make occasional use of radio, but undoubtedly will in time, become congested, particularly in urban areas.
One of the questions we get asked when supplying a radio, is what the range will be. This is a very difficult question as it depends on a number of factors, such as the kind of system, direct or relayed (talk through) and the terrain that the radio will be used in. Some schemes are designed to give blanket coverage of a short distance, such as shopwatch schemes and factory systems, while others are wide area covering many miles. As in all cases, "radio is radio" and signals will not pass through mountains or heavy constructions, without a massive loss of signal.
Hope Valley Radio have joined the BATTERY BACK recycling scheme, all battery packs supplied by us can now be returned FREE and sent away for recycling.
